Promoting Tangible Products Can Increase Profits!

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

At first glance it would appear that as an affiliate you cannot make as much money promoting tangible products as your could promoting digital products. This is a common misconception. The mistake comes from looking at the commission percentages, instead of the actual profit numbers. If for example you find a digital golf product which is paying 50% commissions, that looks much better to you then the tangible golf product which is only paying 10% commissions.

The key is not in the commission rates though. You need to instead look more closely at the overall numbers. If the digital product you’ve selected sells for $47, and you’re being paid 50%, then you will earn $23.50 for each sale. The tangible product on the other hand might sell for $350. So even if you’re only earning 10% commission you will get $35 per sale. That′s more than $10 higher than you’ll get from the digital product. Now, many affiliates mistakenly assume that no one will spend $350 for a product online. If you stop and think about this for a minute you will realize that is simply untrue.

CommerceHub, a dropship fulfillment company had over $4.5 billion in annual sales in 2007. Now this this is just ONE company. Just imagine the annual sales of ALL dropshipping?Thank about it. Have you ever personally done your Christmas shopping online? Have you ever bought home improvement products? Have you ever purchased an item on eBay? Have you ever purchased an item from Amazon?

Even if you personally have not, this is actually how most people do their shopping online. If an avid golfer has his heart set on a certain type of golf clubs, there is an extremely good chance they will spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars buying those clubs. The point is, people buy stuff online constantly. And it′s not unusual for them to spend a heck of a lot of money doing so.As an affiliate marketer, have access to thousands of in demand products available for sale online.

Even if those products are only paying you 10 or 15% commission, you can make a good affiliate income because physical products have a higher perceived value and customers will spend much more money for them. And more often than not they will not simply buy just one thing. Once they find a product they want to buy, they will often buy accessories and related items while they are there. As an affiliate, you can earn commissions on the entiresale… and this really adds up.Now promoting tangible products as an affiliate is very simple to do. The concept is actually the same as if you are promoting digital products. You identify a specific market, figure out what that market is looking to buy, and then get your own affiliate links in front of that market. In the next few days I′m going to go show you a complete step-by-step process that will help you to begin generating an online income by promoting tangible products. If you think this information is helpful, please post the comment below andsbscribe to my feedburner to get my newsletter update

Choose Quality Products and Pre-Sell With Honesty!

trail creative guarantee Choose Quality Products and Pre Sell With Honesty!
If you’re on many lists you will no doubt agree that you’ve seen many great products out there, but I’m sure you also seen your share of some very average or downright junk products as well.  In fact, you may have fallen victim and purchased some of the junk products yourself. I have and I’m sure you have to. So you no doubt know the importance of only choosing quality products to promote to your list or visitors.

This is especially important if you’re promoting digital products through ClickBank or a similar type processer that traditionally makes it easy for customers to request refunds.Think about it. Would your conscience allow you to sell the product you are promoting to a family member or friend? If not, then you owe it to yourself and your potential customers to find something better. And while we’re on the topic of selling, it’s important that when promoting a product or service you show transparency and honesty at all times. To past the truth test you need to ask yourself thisquestion…

…If you were face-to-face with your readers or visitors, would you feel comfortable speaking to them about what you’ve written in your promo email or on your website? Now due to limitation it may not be possible to buy every product we promote, but there’s nothing stopping you from telling the truth about it to the best of our ability. And if that means taking time to research the product, digging for customer complaints and comparing it to similar competitor products – then do it.

As an online marketer your honesty, credibility and integrity is everything. Once you loose the respect of your readers or visitors you will stuggle to make a cent. You must protect the perception as others see you at all costs, even if this means missing out on sales by cutting down on the hype and being totally honest about a product. It’s important that you are never shortsighted about yourfuture. Being successful is not about making a quick buck promoting the latest fad.

Dont’ be sucked in to what most others are doing. Online marketing is about helping others to achieve their own goals by providing quality advice and service to your potential customers.Any short term loss of sales in doing this will be more than offset by your long term success.
