1. If you are going to be showing how to do a certain activity, offline, than you will need a good quality video camera. Now, don’t think that you have to have a thousand dollar camera. You can get great quality video from a camera that’s only a few hundred dollars. Just remember that if you’re going to be recording things outside or if you’re going to be recording yourself, you’ll probably also want a sturdy tripod to support your camera while you’re filming.

2. Screen capture software such as Camtasia. There are many varieties available online, some are even free. For the most part you won’t need a lot of bells and whistles, just good quality that will allow your viewers to follow along with what you’re doing online.

3.  Make sure you have a good quality microphone. If they can’t hear or understand what you’re saying they will stop watching. Again, a good microphone doesn’t have to be expensive, just look around online and you can find just what you’re looking for. Make sure that you take your location into consideration when picking out your microphone. For example, if you’re going to be recording outside where there is a lot of traffic or other noises, you want a microphone that can handle that ambient noise and where you can still be heard.

4. Create a script for your video. As someone who spends a lot of time online I can tell you that I will stop watching any video that is poorly made. It doesn’t matter if it’s poor video or audio quality or just poorly outlined. My time is too valuable to sit through someone trying to stammer their way through a video. Know what you’re going to say, make and follow a script and if you mess up, try again. If you want them to keep watching your video, you better make sure that it’s worth watching.

5. When you submit your video to video directories make sure you optimize it using your niche related keywords. You’ll want to include 3-5 good targeted keywords in your title, your description and your tags. Also make sure to include the URL of your website so they can check out more about what you’re promoting.

These basic video marketing tips will help you get started and succeed with your online marketing efforts much more quickly than if you relied solely on the trial and error method.

Email Marketing is acting as the “problem-solving middleman” through emails. The basic gist of it is, people join your mailing list, you form a relationship with them and occasionally promote something to them. If they buy through a link you put in the email, you make money, either as an affiliate or someone promoting your own product.

Again, we will revisit the definition of marketing and apply it to this new form of Internet Marketing. There really isn’t much of a difference; you’re still servicing a crowd of people who are demanding a certain something from you. You supply it to them and if they’re happy with it, they pay you. The whole supply and demand thing will always stand.

Email Marketing takes some time to really get going. Seasoned Email Marketers run tests on their lists all the time, in the sense that they try to increase the conversion rate. Say you have a list of 1000 people. You’ve been sending an email promoting Widget A and out of 1000, you get 10 people who buy it. So the conversion rate is (10/1000) x 100% = 1%, which is pretty respectable in Internet Marketing.

It really gets exciting when your list is in the hundreds of thousands. There are a few accomplished Internet Marketers who have lists this big. A 1% conversion is a big deal for them! As with Article Marketing, although it is a numbers game, your aim should be to form a relationship with your niche. Get to know them.

You can choose between setting up your own website and choosing from many of the free options online. One of the biggest problems with setting up your own website is that you might not know where to start. Words like, “domain” “FTP” and “URL” draw a blank look from you. the slash after the “.com” implies that the folder, “yournamehere” is a subfolder that  belongs to the main folder, “Blogspot.com”. You can almost think of Blogspot.com as a filing cabinet and yournamehere is just a single manilla folder within a particular drawer.

Alternatively, you might get a subdirectory instead of a subfolder. An example is the site, Tumblr.com. It will look like…

So again, although the structure is not quite the same as a subfolder, a subdirectory still allows you to start your Internet Business; it’s just that you won’t technically own all of the content that is published. With the same analogy as before, you could think of a subdirectory as different drawers in the filing cabinet.

Also, with a lot of these sites, they have quite stringent rules about what can and can’t be published. Sites related to gamblings, pornography and sexual enhancement drugs are not permitted. If your site is too “salesy”, it also won’t make the cut, which is the danger for a lot of Internet Businesses. For this reason, a lot of people suggest that you start off with your own website.
