Google Rank Check-Fastest Way To FInd Where You Stand

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

All webmasters know that a great way to get a lot of quality free traffic is to rank high in the search engine results. But, unless you are on the first page or two of results, scrolling through hundreds of pages of results to find your website isn’t most people’s idea of a good time. To find your google rank check there are a few ways you can go about it.

One of the quickest, easiest and most effective methods for checking your rank is to sign up for Google’s free webmaster tools. After you have your account set up all you need to do is head to your dashboard and click on the “Your Site On The Web” tab to find out how well you are doing.

Another great tool you can use is the “Search Queries” link to find out what keywords people are finding you for. That will help you tweak your keywords to find out which ones are doing the job for you.

Another great way to do a google rank check is to use the advanced search option. Then all you have to do is change the settings so that you get 100 results per page.

Using sites like keywordenvy.com will also make it easy to check the rank of your website. Simply enter your domain name and one of the keywords you want to check the ranking of and you will see your results. This method can be somewhat time consuming but it’s a great way to go about keeping tabs on some of your keywords.

All of these methods can help you keep track of your progress, but what do you do to get  your site a high ranking to begin with? Well, it all starts with some (simple) search engine optimization techniques. Many people don’t consider SEO to be simple and it’s not really. But there are some easy things anyone can do that will help their site get a higher ranking.

Just in case you′re not completely clear on why this type of high ranking is so important, here it is: when your site shows up on the first page of the results for a specific keyword term, you will get a lot of people who are searching for that term seeing your site. Many of those that see your site show up so high in the rankings will click on the link and visit your site.

Since these visitors were actively searching for the very term you are ranking for, that means they are very interested in your product or service, and that means they are much more likely to become a customer of yours (they are very targeted). And the really cool part, it was all free for you.

For any webmaster who wants to do a google rank check the information above is very preliminary. There are so many other sources and ways you can see how well you’re doing. The most important thing for you to learn is just to take the time to see how well you are ranking for your keywords. This will tell you how successful your (or anyone you’ve hired) seo efforts really are and that is good information to have.

Your Keyword Internet Marketing Strategy Is Cruical To Your Success

Saturday, April 9th, 2011

Keyword internet marketing strategy is something you need to understand very well before you begin your online business. Everything online is geared to getting as much traffic as you can and to do that you need to know which keywords your would be customers are searching for and target those keywords.

Sounds simple enough, doesn’t it? And, in reality, it’s not rocket science but before you jump in to the deep end you need to understand that more goes into good keyword research than just finding out which keywords your customers are using.

For example, let’s say you have a website that sells baby strollers. You would assume that anyone interested in buying a baby stroller would use keywords like “baby stroller” “cheap baby stroller”, “baby stroller sales″, “baby stroller on sale”, etc.

But do you have any idea how many people search for those terms? Do you know how many other competitors are trying to get their websites to rank for those terms (how competitive they are)? Do you know what other terms people may be searching for?

In order to make the most out of your keyword internet marketing strategy you need a full picture, not just an “idea” of what keywords will work and which ones won’t.

Targeting a keyword that gets 100,000 searches a month sounds like a sound strategy and a great way to make huge money. But, not so fast, if it were that easy everyone online would be a millionaire.

The problem is that the keywords that get hundreds of thousands of monthly searches also have a ton of competition. All of these other websites are fighting over that one little keyword crumb. Many of these sites have full time staffs dedicated to optimizing their website so they can rank well for that keyword. Most beginners and small online business owners simply can’t compete.

Not to worry, though, there are many other very viable strategies to follow. The simplest one is to find longer keyword phrases (longtailed keywords) and target those instead.

It’s true, they may only get a few thousand searches a month but they will also have far less competition. And, you can target as many of these long tailed keywords as you want.

So, why fight over the scraps when you can target a dozen or so long tailed keywords that are all getting a 1,000 searches a month? By using this strategy you could very realistically get about 12,000 visitors a month to your website!

Not too shabby. Let the big boys fight over the other keywords while you just quietly go about your business.
Ultimately, your online business will live or die by the quantity and quality of the website visitors you get to your site.

No matter what method you use to get those visitors, you will need a solid keyword internet marketing strategy. I hope I′ve shown you that trying to go after the highly competitive keywords is more work and most likely won’t net you much reward.”

How Do Search Engines Work – Web Crawlers

Saturday, February 12th, 2011

It is the search engines that finally bring your website to the notice of the prospective customers. Hence it is better to know how these search engines actually work and how they present information to the customer initiating a search.

There are basically two types of search engines. The first is by robots called crawlers or spiders.

Search Engines use spiders to index websites. When you submit your website pages to a search engine by completing their required submission page, the search engine spider will index your entire site. A ‘spider’ is an automated program that is run by the search engine system. Spider visits a web site, read the content on the actual site, the site’s Meta tags and also follow the links that the site connects. The spider then returns all that information back to a central depository, where the data is indexed. It will visit each link you have on your website and index those sites as well. Some spiders will only index a certain number of pages on your site, so don’t create a site with 500 pages!

The spider will periodically return to the sites to check for any information that has changed. The frequency with which this happens is determined by the moderators of the search engine.

A spider is almost like a book where it contains the table of contents, the actual content and the links and references for all the websites it finds during its search, and it may index up to a million pages a day.

Example:  Excite, Lycos, AltaVista and Google.

When you ask a search engine to locate information, it is actually searching through the index which it has created and not actually searching the Web. Different search engines produce different rankings because not every search engine uses the same algorithm to search through the indices.

One of the things that a search engine algorithm scans for is the frequency and location of keywords on a web page, but it can also detect artificial keyword stuffing or spamdexing. Then the algorithms analyze the way that pages link to other pages in the Web. By checking how pages link to each other, an engine can both determine what a page is about, if the keywords of the linked pages are similar to the keywords on the original page.

Keywords And Content

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

There is no denying the importance of keywords used in any content that is placed on the Web. Keywords allow you and everyone else who uses the Web the ability to find what you are looking for. If you need just one bit of information, you likely would spend countless hours in research trying to find it if it was not for keywords.

As an Internet marketing professional, how do keywords relate to your own business? Usually, if you are using the Web as a marketing tool in any way, keywords are an important component.

In this book, we will examine the importance of keywords. We also compare it to the importance of quality content. Is it possible to have great content and still have great keywords in your final copy? It is possible, and in fact, it is necessary to do this if you wish to have a successful website or blog. Before getting into these details, let’s start at the beginning.

WHAT ARE THEY AND WHERE TO USE THEMWhat are keywords? These are words individuals will type into a search box when they are looking for something online. For example, let us say you are looking to purchase a table. You get online, go to the search box, and type in the word “table” into the search box. The search engines start looking for websites that relate to your search.

Within seconds, there is a long list or results in front of you (called the search engine results page) that you can choose from. Now, on the flip side of the coin, if you owned a website selling tables, you would want to attract this person to your website. To do so, you need to have your website displayed on the search engine results page. To do this, you need to have the most appropriate keywords on your website. So, for example, you need to have the world “table” used properly on your website for the search engine results to actually see your website as valuable to this search.

Using keywords will help you prove your value to the search engines. The key is to know what helps you to rank well and what may not help you. Less than a decade ago, people took advantage of the keywords. Pages and pages of websites had virtually nothing but keywords on them. The problem is, when a website is packed with just keywords, it is likely not to be packed with information.

Here is an example to consider: John designs a website to attract visitors who he hopes will visit the affiliate pages he is linking to. So, he plans to put lots of keywords on his page. That way, his website will rank well, right? There are two problems with this process.

First, there is little chance that anyone who comes to such a page will feel it valuable enough to stick around and click onto affiliate links. Second, Google and other search engines have made significant changes to their complex algorithms. Websites that have too many keywords on them will be ranked lower in the search engine results pages. The key is to know what the actual best percentages are.

Of course, Google is not going to tell you just how many keywords to use. They do offer a lot of in-depth information that you can use, though. It is this information that you want to rely on to get the results you are looking for. Google is not the bad guy: They want to provide individuals who use their search engines with the best websites online to solve their inquiries.
